Both networks shared the same studio for its operation purpose which is located in Beaumont and the transmitter of KBTK TV station is based in the Vidor region. KBTV channel4 start its broadcasting on October 22, 1957, with the name of KPAC TV which was an NBC affiliate channel owned by Texas Gulfcoast Television Inc.
The owner of KPAC radio which is known as KDEI, and FM frequency KTJM owned the TV. It was the one in the market which start its color transmission and live coverage during football games. Clay Communication bought the television in 1973 from the Jefferson Entertainment Company and Price Communication Corporation bought the network along with sister stations KFDX and WAPT for the amount of 60 million dollars.
