KLNI-TV in the area of Lafayette and New Iberia was the home for KADN Fox which was NBC affiliated on September 16, 1968. Southwestern Louisiana Communications Inc has acquired the channel and was the first television station that was providing color transmission in the entire southwestern area of Louisiana. PBS programming was brought from the channel when other NBC associated program was broadcasting in the market. Lafayette is was not big enough to handle three full-powered networks in the same market. KATC 3 and KLFY 10 were the superior competitors of KLNI-TV and facing many other difficulties to stand with them.

In Baton Rouge WBRZ-TV and KPLX-TV in Lake Charles were providing grade B broadcasting media coverage in most of the market. On February 21, 1975, KLNI decided to stop its operational activities due to financial disturbance entire of its time. WBRZ and KPLC in south-central Louisiana have cable providers with NBC affiliations. KADN FOX 15 has become the commercial television station in the market of Lafayette after KLNI frequency was out of service for many years. Delta Media Corporation owned by Charles Chatelain first signed on as an independent channel on March 1, 1980, and broadcasting many entertainment programs which were included children’s programs, sports, and movies.
