WGMB Fox 44 and 1044 are operated by AT&T and both resolutions are available during broadcasting. Dish Network and DirecTV are offering WGMB services through satellite systems. On August 11, 1991, WGMB become the Nielsen promoted area as Fox-affiliated after starting its broadcast transmission in the Baton Rouge region. Galloway family was the founder of channel 44 and having mentorship from Communications Corporation of America.

Federal Communications Commission was assigned the channel for Baton Rouge but it took many years to bring the broadcasting transmission to the designated area. WPFT was having interests from the Parish family to make WGMB Fox 44 an independent station and Louisiana Super Communications objected to these sale terms. Thomas Galloway from Lafayette acquired the channels from PFTV and other channels such as KVEO, KWKT, and KPEJ from Southwest Multimedia.

A digital Antenna was borrowed from the WNTZ sister station and installed on the WVLA tower. Week delayed programs were launched which was Fox production from 1990 to 1991 by the side of Delta Media Corporation. WGMB was carried out different movie packages WVLA become the sister station to WGMB and Sheldon also has some stakes in channel 44. Florida Boulevard was the original broadcasting place from WGMB that start its services after being bought from Galloways in 1999 along with other channels WVLA, WBBR, and WZUP which have the common offices on Perkins Road in Baton Rouge.

Bankruptcy was submitted by Communication Corporation on April 24, 2013, and sold all its broadcasting assets to the Nexstar Broadcasting Group including WGMB-TV. Local Newscast was not on-aired until 2007 and carrying only entertainment programs in the Baton Rouge area with Fox affiliations. Second subchannel WBRL-CD producing low power signals with the affiliation of WB and CW. After acquiring the broadcasting assets of Tribune Media on December 3, 2018, Nexstar Group become the biggest Television operator with having the maximum number of channels in the entire broadcasting market.

Evening news anchors of channel 44 are Kelly Anne Beile and Tarvarious Haywood. Morning new programs are hosted by Gerron Jordan and Kourtney Williams. Ashley Ruiz and her team is performing their skills and experience in the channel weather department. Brian Holland is as Sports director and his side team is having Cheesa Bouche, Aileen Hantiuk and Jared Joseph are working as sports reporters and anchors.
