WEHH was decided to construct on the same frequency which was later postponed by Frank Saia. A restaurant place was occupied for the technical and operational facility which was taken from the abandoned WNYP-TV and Larry Tylor helped to install it on the first floor of Mark Twain Hotel. WSYE analog antenna was used by the WENY ABC/CBS 35 which was located on Hawley Hill Tower. WENY analog transmitter was going to construct at the place of the WSYE building and the digital transmitter tower was shifted to a new place in Corning. It was in beginning provided color and black-and-white transmission with having ABC programming which was on-aired by WABC in New York and WSYR in the area of Syracuse. Children’s program Romper Room and Weeknight horror movies were in the transmission slot from channel 35.
WENY Local News Live:
News and emergency announcements were generating from Hawley Hill after the Hurricane destroyed the facility in 1972 and some of the equipment was shifted during water rising in the station facility. A building was taken by Green which was being used by the Army Corps of Engineers in Horseheads. Tylor and station engineer Gary Simon shifted the facility from the hotel building to a garage in local property which is still based in that same place.
