History under the affiliation with ABC:
After the first signed on air of WISN ABC 12 in October 1954, as WTVW. The first transmission house of this channel was built under a tent, which destroyed later on due to an attack of rain. In 1955, WISN was owned by Hearst Corporation. In January 1958, this station become the flagship. The studio of this TV broadcasts three programs at that time includes Homemakers Holiday, a quiz show, and Good Housekeeping. The WISN ABC 12 also introduced a senate investigation committee in 1958.
Cable Carriage dispute in 2012:
When the Hearst and Time Warner cable entered in re-transmission consents dispute, it causes the removal of Hearst station from the TWC system in the market. At that time this station was not removed from the area of Milwaukee and it was the only channel of Hearst that remain on TWC during the dispute. Then WISN removed from the TWC, after a different method used by Charter. On July 19, this dispute was resolved, the WISN ABC 12 returned to TWC systems.

When the signals of this station shut down from analog channel 12, then these signals transitioned from analog to digital broadcasts.
