ABC KODE TV always mentioned the pronunciation of the word ”KODE” as it stands separately in manner. For Southwestern Missouri, this television starts broadcasting on September 26, 1954, and was the primary ally with CBS. The services of KOAM TV merged in ABC after the CBS. The owner of the KODE AM 1230 radio channel belonged to Justin Harrison who locally establishes this station. This station locally functioned in Joplin and their studios and transmitter are on 13th Street West.

The former name of WTOV was known as WSTV owner Harrison decided to sell this station to a group called Friendly Broadcasting at the time of 1956. After very next year they drive the existing name of station KODE TV. Friendly Broadcasting group was also owned the WRGP and in 1961 this group sold both of the stations to the United Printers and Publishers and this deal closed in 1961 in Massachusetts. CBS affiliation shifted to the ABC affiliation on January 1, 1968, and KODE TV is performing its broadcast transmission.

KODE ABC TV made an agreement with Nexstar Broadcasting as a form of shared services in 2002 and the very next year, KSNF and KODE TV decided to start working together including the building expansion and renovation in studios of KSN. One day suspension of broadcasting on May 9, 2009, KODE station and KSNF were knocked off by a big storm in Joplin. On June 17 KSNF starts its morning air after the repair of damage which was done by the storm and both stations got affected. They rebuild the station building in April 2010 as start functioning with Nexstar Broadcasting in the area of Indiana.
