KARD FOX 14 News Monroe, LA

Both stations have the same shared studios in West Monroe on Pavilion End and the Transmitter of stations is situated in Columbia, Louisiana. In Huttig, Arkansas of Northwest, the second digital subchannel of KTVE’s and simulcast its own digital signal are providing services in high definition resolution. This was the counterpart of the KUZN radio station with the same owner. KFAZ station is also owned by Griffith as co-owner of Monroe’s first Television station in the area. It went off-air in 1954 after the year of signing on in the market.

The KARD FOX 14 programs launched by the station were BBC series Panorama and local newscast along with old western movies. KYAY become the successful station than KUZN but shut down its services on August 16, 1971. With new callsign of KLAA, the station returned in 1974 and set on channel 14 and became an NBC affiliation. After the change of ABC affiliation in 1972, KNOE TV brings selected NBC programs during the CBS, and KNOE’s was not broadcasting. Former studios of KARD and KLAA were occupied by the religious station of channel 39 and known as KMCT TV.

On December 6, 1982, KLAA changed its callsign to KARD after NBC took the affiliation from KTVE and start progressing at the time. KARD TV in Wichita become the sister station of the current KARD after the merging with Media General in 2016. Local ownership of the station was ended in 1984 after Woods Communication purchased the KARD. West Monroe studios were the area where the station transmitter was located but in 1986 Woods Communication shifted it to Caldwell Parish with updating in the power up to 5 million watts and become the first tall tower of UHF station.
