KETV ABC 7 News Omaha, NE Live Stream

On September 17, 1957, its first broadcasting transmission was on-aired and become the third Omaha television outlet in the market with other WOWT and KMTV. KETV was only the first which have never been changed its affiliation and ABC network in the Omaha region. Lincoln market was become the individual broadcasting market by Federal Communications Commission which was earlier served by KOLN and the market was Omaha.

In 1996 Lincoln area was served by KLKN and KETV was carried out the ABC programming in Nebraska region with having extra studio facilities in the area. World Publishing Company was the founder of the station and had a publishing firm which was famously known as Omaha World-Herald with an association of newspaper division.

In 1962 World Publishing was acquired by Peter Kiewit and he was facing the common ownership laws for newspaper and television networks under the mandate of FCC. He decided to sell out the television assets to Pulitzer Broadcasting Company in 1976 and the circle 7 logo was introduced two years later in 1984 which is commercially used by KETV television outlet. Hearst Television announced to bought Pulitzer entire broadcasting assets along with KETV station in 1998.

Viewership of KETV:

The transmitter tower of KETV was damaged on July 4, 2003, due to additional installation of the digital transmission antenna, and luckily, there were no injuries reported and transmission was suspended. An extra small tower was utilized by the television station for almost a year until new construction of 61 meters far from the actual transmitter location and it was completed in 2004. The transmission of KETV was removed from the broadcasting market of Lincoln on July 4, 2003, after some internal issues between Time Warner Cable and Hearst Television. Later in 2012, an agreement was made by both parties and retransmission carriage occurred in specific areas.
