KFQX Local News Live:
KREX news transmission was provided by KFQX in the early years of its operations. News Programming was on-aired in 2005 by KDVR which was owned and operated by Fox network. Weekday morning newscast is provided up to three hours transmission and primetime newscasting was carrying from 9:30 to 10:30 p.m. 5 hours of locally-based news is operational from KREX and supervised by the station. Gray Television decided to acquire Hoak Media and Parker Broadcasting on November 20, 2013, for the total amount of 335 million dollars.
Viewership of KFQX:
KFQX sold to Excalibur Broadcasting while Gray decided to sold-out KREX due to the specific ownership limits which are provided by Federal Communications Commission. KKCO was already under possession of Gray television and operational activities were carried out for KJCT. Nexstar Broadcasting Group bought the KREX and other satellite broadcasting assets from Gray on December 19 for the amount of 37.5 million dollars. On February 27, 2017, FCC approved the sale deed for Nexstar and it was finalized on March 31. In the morning around 8:45 a.m., an accident occurs due to a fire that was caused by KREX, KFQX, and KGJT suspension of transmission.
