Retlaw Broadcasting announced it bought KJEO in 1968 from Shasta Telecasting and had a joint venture with KFSN which was associated with the ABC network. With having a partnership with Fisher Broadcasting in 1998, channel 47 was sold to Ackerley Group and new ownership decided to change call signs to KGPE on September 14, 2000.

This deal was made by Federal Communications Commission and the sale was closed in 2002 and CBS 47 was a branding icon for its transmission in the broadcasting market. Providence Equity Partners which was a holding company of Newport television announced to bought Clear Channel broadcasting assets on April 20, 2007. High Plain Broadcasting was announced to acquire KGPE and Newport television broadcasting assets in May 2008 which was caused by ownership conflicts. KFTV and KTFF owners have more than 19% shares in the broadcasting assets and this deal was closed on September 15, 2008.

KGPE television was operated by Newport under a shared services agreement by the Federal Communications Commission and associated with the CBS network since the beginning of the first transmission. KGET and KGPE were sold out to Nexstar Broadcasting Group on November 5, 2012, and the KSEE television network was acquired from Granite Broadcasting under an acquisition deal KGPE, In May 2013 two states of the art studio facilities were constructed for the general transmission of KGPE and KSEE and this statement was addressed by General Manager of a television network.
