In Magic Valley, KSAW is operated by the network as semi satellite which is based in Twin Falls. The transmission schedule is covered by KIVI ABC 6 programming along with its own syndicated programs and evening news transmission for the area of Twin Falls. KSAW declared a small advertising facility for its promotional purposes in Blue Lakes Park which is situated in Twin Falls.
There were two failed attempts in terms of establishing a television network for the area of Nampa which was later captured by KIVI ABC 6. Idaho’s first television station was nominated to KFXD during the beginning of its transmission services on August 11, 1953.
KIVI Local News Live:
It was struggling hard to get market affiliation and other syndicated programs for its services and operational activity was carried out by only two persons which caused the prompt closure of the network from the area. Broadcasting services were terminated as VHF stations in the United States and it became the first television in the area. From November 1958 to January 1960, KCIX’s first-ever transmission was on-aired but attempting to acquire ABC association was failed and went in the dark during a deal was signed with a radio and television network in Pocatello. Robert Taylor an actor was the prominent name for trying to acquire channel 6 in 1968 for the area of Nampa and Snake River Valley Television was also in the bid.
Viewership of KIVI:
On March 26, 1971, Idaho Television Corporation granted the construction permit from Federal Communications Commission. The first-ever communication was made by KIVI ABC 6 on February 1, 1974, as KITC and a month delay occurred due to collision of transmitter tower in Pocatello for its sister station KPVI. ABC programming was divided between KBOI and KTVB and the Boise area was having transmission services from all three stations. KITC decided to change its call signs and names to KIVI which is presently used in the broadcasting market. Local news programming was launched on April 27 from the Nampa facility.
