KMSS FOX 33 News Shreveport Louisiana

There were seven Media groups that participated in the construction approval of UHF channel 33 which was holding the contest by the Federal Communication Commission. This was the first UHF-allocated Television station in the area of Shreveport. On June 12, 1982, the first application was submitted for the broadcasting over the channel frequencies. A New York-based Great Central Communications submit their construction permit application to the Federal Commission.

Administrative Law Judge Byron E. Harrison resolve the dispute over construction permit applications and disqualifying matters against Media Communication on December 7, 1984. Later on, in February 1985 Media South Communications received the approval of KMSS TV and call letters for the licensee of Shreveport. On April 11, 1985, the station begins its first transmission after KTBS Tv affiliate with ABC and KMSS become the fifth commercial station in Shreveport.

KMSS Local News Live:

The KMSS FOX 33 originally starts its broadcasting from Jewella Avenue 3519 during the daytime of 6:00 until 3:00. KMSS was the first individual station in the market which was maintained classic and western dramas, cartoons, and some religious programs. CBS programs that KSLA TV declined to broadcast were start on-air from channel 33 and children morning program was also on the list. Nexstar Broadcasting Group announced to acquire nineteen television stations which were owned by Communications Corporation including KMSS along with the KSHV TV agreement. KMSS goes to Marshall as well ComCorp sold to Nexstar received the approval from Federal Commission on December 4, 2014.

In the history of KMSS station, it was the one among other Fox-affiliated TV stations which did not have any transmission related to local news. In 1991 KMSS start its weather forecasting in regular programming which was produced by Weather Vision Company and they don’t have any news department at the time. Brad Cesak and Fernanda Hernandez are the main anchors of KMSS FOX 33 and Josh Marcisz with Todd Warren are the station’s Meteorologists for weather updates and alerts.
