KOAA NBC 5 News Colorado Springs CO

On June 30, 1953, the first transmission was begun from the network with having call letters of KCSJ-TV and it was acquired by Star-Chieftain Publishing Corporation. This group also owned two newspapers in the area and another radio broadcasting unit KCSJ-AM. It became the second oldest broadcasting outlet far from the region of Denver. Southern Colorado was covered and facilitated by NBC programming during 1950 which was provided by KCSJ television.

KRDO is based in Colorado Springs and the approximate range for its transmission was 64 km north of the designated area. One single market was developed in southern Colorado which is developed by the Federal Communications Commission. Network programming was replaced by KRDO associated with ABC and KCSJ showed its intention to attach with the NBC network. In the Northern market, areas were not fully covered by KOAA during 1970 which was ended and provided smooth transmission through cable connections by the service providers in the broadcasting market. KOAA NBC 5 becomes the resourceful assets of the outlet which helps to generate sufficient signals for the region of Colorado Springs and other counties.
