Mission Broadcasting which belongs to Wichita Falls acquired the KRBC and Nexstar Media Group-owned KTAB channel 32 under joint sales and services agreement with the affiliation of the CBS network. Both networks have common studios and offices are based in western Abilene on South 14th Street.
The Transmitter tower of KRBC is situated in Callahan County on Texas State Highway. On August 30, 1953, its operational activities were begun as the first television station in the area of Abilene. The previous owner of the network was the Ackers family which already bought the Harte Hanks Communications along with a construction permit and KRBC radio.
Reporter Broadcasting Company call signs were taken from the first alphabets after Abilene Reporter-News was acquired by the group. On top of Rattlesnake Mountain have the transmitter tower and KRBC took different types of programming in the transmission from NBC, ABC, and CBS networks. CBS affiliation was suspended after KPAR begin its services in 1956 but it was always the primary NBC associated network. KRBC NBC 9 start transmission services in 1962 for the area of San Angelo as a satellite channel of KRBC. After keeping the network under possession for more than 44 years, the Ackers family decided to sold Abilene radio and television companies to Sunrise Television in 1997.

The news owner-operated KRBC and KACB as joint venture and services which helps the KACB in operational mode with fully functional television in the area. Lin Television decided to sold KRBC after having a joint venture with Sunrise and Mission broadcasting was the owner after this deal. Nexstar Broadcasting Group sign a contract with Mission about shared sales agreements including news, traffic, technical, and other operational activities. KTAB operation was generated from the previous and better building of KRBC NBC 9 in 2005 which was situated in Abilene on South of 14th Street. As the senior partner, Nexstar was controlling KRBC operational tasks and other matters under a joint sales agreement.

KLST and KSAN along with KRBC and KTAB broadcasting transmission were carried out from the state-of-the-art facility and control room of Nexstar and Mission.
