KZTV CBS 10 was operated through analog signals on VHF and the working partnership was made with KSIX radio. On December 31, 1957, the station call letters were changed to KZTV and it keeps CBS affiliation in entire history but also have a secondary affiliation with ABC with KRIS-TV until the operational activity was on aired for KIII. Vann Kennedy which was the Corpus Christi businessman was the founder of KZTV and also owned the KVTV in the Laredo area. Walter Cronkite was hired by Kennedy during working in the International News Service. Kennedy has the minimum budget which cannot even fulfill the intended needs of the operational matters. And he was providing on-the-job training for television principles of Journalism and later KZTV was the training hub for fresh graduates.
