WDFX FOX 34 News Ozark, Al

WCOV-TV was providing Fox-affiliated programs for the viewers of the Northern part of the Dothan market force to think some Ozark entrepreneurs to launch a locally based channel which can cover the broadcasting transmission. CBS affiliated WYOU call letters were being used in the area of Scranton and Pennsylvania. On August 31, 1995, the WDFX-TV call signed was decided to finalize as an official name television channel and acquired by Wood Communications Corporation in the Montgomery area which was owned by David Woods. Charles Woods, his father was also operating a market-based broadcasting station WTVY 4 having an association with the CBS network for the area of Dothan.

Woods Communications have enough broadcasting experience to lift WDFX’s up in every sector of transmission services. The channel was moved its facilities to Ross Clark Circle after Waitt Media bought from Wood Communications in June 1999.

WDFX Local News Live:

Traffic department and sales advertisement modules were working together under one roof in the history of the broadcasting market. WDFX start working with the WSFA television with having NBC affiliation after acquiring Raycom Media on December 15, 2003. Two years later Liberty Corporation was also bought from Raycom for the coverage area in Montgomery. WRGX-LD launched its first transmission in 2013 after those three channels were handling the market of the Wiregrass region.

Raycom Corporation was sold to Gray Television network on June 25, 2018, and decided to sold-out WDFX with the previously owned WTVY television network. Lockwood Broadcast Group acquired the WPGX in Panama City, WTNZ In Knoxville, WFXG in Augusta along with WDFX on August 20, 2018. This sale deal and transaction matters were finalized on January 2, 2019.
