Marlite Communications was the original founder of the channel and run all its programming as an independent station that was carrying children’s cartoons and western movie shows during the afternoon and in prime-time slots. The channel studios were located in Rivera Beach on West Blue Heron Boulevard. In 1984 WFLX movies library was containing 3600 titles and was not focusing on children’s programming which was already doing from other market networks. WSVN become Fox-affiliated in the area of Miami because of less coverage transmission in Northern Miami counties and On October 9, 1986, WFLX gets associated with the Fox network in all of the Florida region. Raycom Media bought WFLX FOX 29 from Marlite in 1998 and become the Fox high rated television network in entire the area.

There was no damaging to the rating of WPTV and WFLX in the West Palm Beach stations. It has become the first television network in the market that broadcast in high definition and carrying affiliated network programs in their own transmission. The Tube Music Network was started in April 2005 from Raycom Media as a digital subchannel but in 2007 it was suspended due to a financial crisis for operating Tube services. On June 12, 2009, WFLX transferred its analog signals to a full-power television in the United States. WPTV-TV and WFLX start broadcasting together under a shared services agreement in March 2011 for the Treasure Coast with the association of NBC which was owned by E. W. Scripps Company.
