WJAC NBC 6 News Johnstown, PA

Johnstown Automotive Company was the first founder of WJAC NBC 6 which already acquired the radio station AM 1400 and WKYE FM. A commercial license was issued and it became the third smallest in the broadcasting market while WNBF-TV and WICU-TV were existing in the same market with ABC and CBS affiliation. The channel was operated through analog signals on frequency 13 and later shifted to station 6 in 1952. Network affiliation from four existing networks was made by WJAC which was NBC, CBS, ABC, and DuMont. WJAC-TV network suspended affiliation with CBS from its schedule.

WJAC Local News Live:

Federal Communications Commission advised to sold-out radio stations under the cross-ownership rules and regulations in 1984. Media News Group acquired the newspapers from Walters Estate and keeps channel 6 under possession until 1997 which was later sold to Sunrise Television Network. Cox Enterprises bought the WJAC NBC 6 along with sister station WTOV-TV in 2000 from the market of Steubenville and West Virginia. Both stations have working partnerships with WPXI in the region of Pittsburgh. WPXI graphic was used during transmission for WPXI and WJAC after being bought from Cox and in 2004, WPXI brought the change in its own transmission theme.

NBC 6 was broadcasting 15 minutes of news and weather transmission during weekdays in the 1960s. The weather transmission team is included Madi Baggett and Caitlin Wester Holm is serving NBC 6 as a Meteorologist in the weather forecasting team. Multimedia Journalist of the team having Nicole Fuschino and her career started in 2020. Joce Sterman is working as National Investigative Correspondent and win the National Headliner award. Ryan Stanko is sports anchor and director of sports in the WJAC NBC 6 team. He was working in Ohio valley for sports coverage. Ahtra Elnashar is working as National Correspondent for the Sinclair Broadcast Group and covering the White House, Congress, and other political activities.
