On June 25, 2018, Raycom decided to sell out entire assets in the market to Gray television which already had the WJHG-TV channel 7. Later Gray Television sold WPGX along with WTNZ, WFXG in Georgia, and WDFX in Alabama on January 2, 2019, to the Lockwood Broadcast group. On June 12, 2009, WPGX FOX 28 announced to shift its analog transmission system to UHF channel 28 and become the full-powered station in the United States according to the federal mandate.
WPGX Local News Live:
Digital broadcasting can be transmitted through receivers as previously tunned channels on UHF. An arrangement was made in the channel 28 studios for weather forecasting programs for WMBB owned by Hoak Media. Weather vision was producing recorded tapes during signal interruption about transmission. That newscast was an hour-long on a weeknight which was occurred from WPGX on June 1, 2020, with the title of Fox 28 News. A suspension was inserted between WDFX in Dothan and WSFA program transmission. A locally based newscast for the prime-time slot was made by WDHN under the ownership of Nexstar signed a contract with Lockwood in Panama City.
