A Brief History of WPMI TV:
The first authority of WPMI TV was Hess Broadcasting and at that time, it broadcast every variety of entertainment like classic sitcoms, cartoons, old movies, religious programs, westerns, and dramas. Newport TV purchases the station on 15 March 2008, and later on, it sold to the Sinclair Broadcast Group in July 2012. On 3 December 2012 due to the rules of FCC, the license of the station transferred to Deerfield Media.

It operates together with numerous channels as a programing affiliation includes 15.1: NBC, 15.2: Weather Nation, 15.3: Stadium, and 44.1: Independent. It former affiliation with FOX and Independent.
Analog to digital conversion:
The transformation occurs on 12 June 2009 when WPMI TV ceased its analog signal to digital signal on channel 15 under the federal mandate and switch off its all regular programs. Its digital signals carry for telecasting on its pre-transition UHF channel 47 to post-transition operation channel 15.
