WRDW CBS 12 News Augusta GA

A television owned by a group of Beasley Broadcast shared the WRDW letters for its AM radio station in Augusta. In February 1954 WRDW TV started its operation and become the second oldest TV in the area of Augusta. The parent company was the founder of WRDW radio and formerly knows as WCHZ and both radio and TV stations were belonging to Radio Augusta. In its entire history, WRDW has the CBS affiliation in the entire history, and the sister station of Radio Augusta is also affiliated by CBS Network.

Morris family and their company acquired the Radio Augusta in 1956 along with Southeastern Newspaper of Augusta Chronicle. WJBF station start splitting its NBC affiliation with WRDW TV on September 1, 1967. Due to the weak and disturbing network signals of WATU, NBC allowed WRDW and WJBF stations to keep affiliation with NBC as secondary in the market of Augusta.

Rust Craft Broadcasting bought channel 12 and Augusta Broadcasting in 1960 and the station was allowed to keep using WRDW call letters for its Radio station until James Brown sold the Radio station. Ziff Davis who was a Magazine publisher purchased Rust Craft later in 1979.WRDW station replace its facility in the new building which was located in North Augusta. With the replacement of Antenna TV in May 2013, WRDW was carrying weather information and during 2017 station upgraded its digital signals into high definition.
