WVAW ABC 16 on UHF was adopted by W64AO on April 9, 2004, and decided to change its call signs to current WVAW and some changes in up-gradation of power and stop sharing services with WHSV television. During the existence of local-based networks WVIR and WCAV, It becomes the third television station with having major network association in the market. Gray Television decided to launch its third area television as WAHU with the affiliation of Fox network in 2005 after acquiring WVAW and WCAW.
