WWAY Local News Live:
WBTW was providing B grade signals in South Carolina and having the CBS association as the record for Southeastern Carolina. WWAY was acquired by Clay Broadcasting and they decided to shift its technical studios to the North end of the downtown. An accident occurs with the WWAY transmitter tower when a military jet hits in Winnabow area. 610 meter high elevate tower was constructed after the destruction of the old facility. Price Communications bought the WWAY along with sister channels KJAC in Port Arthur and KFDX in the area of Texas for the total amount of sixty million dollars.
Viewership of WWAY:
Later it was sold to Adams Communications and bought it again from CLG Media in 1993. Hillside Broadcasting acquired the WWAY ABC/CBS 13 in 1995. Raycom Media owned the WECT and having collaboration with Liberty Corporation and WWAY was sold by law from Federal Communications Commission under the same ownership rules. CW network was added as a subchannel of WWAY in September 2013 with having the brand name of Cape Fear CW. Wilmington market has Rowland and Robeson County have a broadcasting transmission for WWAY 13. It was not carried out by satellite services outside of the Wilmington market. ATMC channel 5 is facilitated in the region of Brunswick County.
