A joint venture with WCTI-TV is facilitated on the web portal as both networks shared the same official website for the users. Main signals were originally generated from WFXI which was licensed for the area of Morehead City. The western region was controlled and widely ranged by satellite from WYDO and WFXI have covering transmission on the Eastern side. In Spectrum auction organized by Federal Communications Commission, WFXI went off, and WYDO become the solely capable television for having Fox association in the area. Cunningham Broadcasting decided to buy WYDO from Esteem Broadcasting which is owned by Bonten Media Group.
WYDO Local News Live:
On November 1, 1989, WFXI begin its operational transmission as the fourth commercial television network in North Carolina. WLFL and WTTG was the service provider of Fox programs by cable connection in Eastern Carolina. It was operated on extremely low power because of less area as compared to other market base stations. Channel 8 of WXEX signals are protected by WFXI in the area of Petersburg, Virginia. The transmission radius was covering Morehead, Jacksonville, and New Bern which all belong to the eastern portion of Carolina.
Viewership of WYDO:
The local advertisement was serving from WYDO while WFXI was facing signal issues. The owner of WCTI Bonten Media Group decided to acquire WFXI and WYDO broadcasting assets from Piedmont Television on November 6, 2007, which was a close deal by FCC. And the construction license was issued to Esteem Broadcasting and WFXI shifted its assets to the WCTI facility which was located in New Bern. Sinclair decided to buy the station for the amount of 240 million dollars along with WCTI on April 21, 2017.

The weather department of WYDO is having meteorologists which are Chris Thompson and Dough Lindsay.
